What graphics card do you have? The editor uses a feature called "linear filters" and it seems your card does not support them. Nothing I can do, sorry.

In the first post in this thread there are some links to sites with solutions to the d3dx9_35.dll problem. Check those out.

Some people get this. Perhaps you have
a) a laptop
b) an integrated gfx card

I have no solution for this.

Make sure you have warcraft 3 installed, and that it's a legit version (ie: no messing with the mpq's).

As for the missing d3dx9_35.dll problem you may want to check out this site.

You can't download a single dll and expect it to work. You have to install it properly. If microsoft.com is down try again later, I'm sure they'll have it up shortly.
40  Game Forums / General Discussion / Re: What files does the Model Editor need? on: July 12, 2009, 03:11:32 AM
Textures are retrieved from the mpq's, so those are required.
And to find the mpq's the warcraft 3 registry entry (in regedit) must remain.

Yes it's possible, but not trivial.
You'd at least need a graphics API like DirectX or OpenGL.
For dot net you could check out XNA or SlimDX.

Is it possible to have the texture(skin) on the model in the editor?
Textures in the (standard) mpq's are found automatically. If you have a texture "MyFolder\MyTexture.blp" then it has to be located relative where the program is (like C:\War3ModelEditor\MyFolder\MyTexture.blp) or relative to where you opened the model (like C:\MyModels\MyFolder\MyTexture.blp).

are there any other/better ways to place bones
Disturbing, how I just one a simple rotation, and it's so difficult
Sorry. Good pick/drag-n-drop features are hard to implement. There is a reason why good modelling programs costs 999999$ Smiley.

I suggest visiting http://www.wc3c.net/ or http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/news.php as I'm more of a programmer than a modeller Wink.
Don't know what you mean by "fit in", but a texture is generally not affected by transformations.
44  General Forums / File Distribution / Re: War3 Model Editor on: July 01, 2009, 09:36:59 AM
Node Manager -> Right-click node -> Edit Node -> Rotation.
You have to specify each track node by hand. Rotations are expressed as quaternions, so if you don't know quaternions I'm afraid you're on slippery ice Smiley.
Make sure you run the latest version, as there was some bugs in the animation editor.
45  Programming Forums / General Discussion / Re: Is it possible to extend MpqLib? on: June 25, 2009, 09:16:25 AM
Not sure exactly what you're asking, but MpqLib doesn't implement every single feature the underlying library (stormlib) support. It's meant as a simple-to-use library in 95% of all use-cases. For the last 5% you have to write your own wrappers Smiley.
